College Guide Rankings Profile
While it is the academic experience and community of people that makes Providence College special, college guides can also tell you something quantitative about Providence College.
For example, U.S. News and World Report has ranked Providence College as one of the top regional colleges and universities in the North for fourteen consecutive years, currently standing at #1 in in the 2017 ranking of “Best Colleges – Regional Universities – North.” (The 574 universities in this category offer a full range of undergraduate and master’s level programs and are ranked within four geographic regions.)
To receive such an honor, US News and World Report considered, among other metrics, our:
- Average freshman retention rate, an indicator of student satisfaction, of 91 percent.
- Small class sizes, with greater than half of our classes having less than 20 students.
- Graduation rate of 85%.
In addition to the College’s general rankings, the AACSB-accredited Providence College School of Business is currently ranked #61 in the Bloomberg Businessweek list of the top 100 undergraduate business programs in the country — 14 places higher than its last ranking of 75 and a rise of 50 percent in just two ranking cycles.
